Loving Vincent

This feature-length painted animation -- the first film of its kind -- explores the life and unusual death of artist Vincent Van Gogh via depictions of his artworks. A year after Van Gogh’s death, a young man, Armond, comes to Van Gogh’s last hometown to deliver the troubled painter's final letter. He ends up investigating Van Gogh’s final days there as he meets many of the people who not only knew the artist but were also models and inspirations for his art. Armond becomes increasingly fascinated with the psyche and fate of Van Gogh as numerous suspicious details fail to add up, and eventually realizes that Van Gogh’s troubled life is as much a matter of interpretation as his paintings are.
