Stories of the Land and Its People: Opening Event

Presented by the Farnsworth Art Museum

Join us in celebrating the efforts of local student and teacher participants of the Farnsworth Art Museum’s Stories of the Land and Its People (Stories) program.  Stories is a yearlong arts-integration initiative in which the Farnsworth Art Museum facilitates in-depth partnerships with local schools, artists, and community members to connect the arts to curricular learning standards.  This program explores student and teacher curiosity through art, inquiry, creativity, and interactive learning experiences.  Stories provides professional development opportunities for teachers and artists, free online resources for all educators, private arts-integration consultations, and various multi-visit arts-integration programs led by the Arts in Education Program Manager.

The Stories 2019 Exhibition celebrates the work created by over 155 elementary and middle school students and teachers who took part in the 2018-2019 Stories program.  The opening event includes a red carpet entrance, student performances, and participant recognition.  The student exhibition opening and reception will immediately follow at the Farnsworth Art Museum.

This event is free and open to the public.
