Fackham Hall is a gleefully irreverent spoof that takes all the hallmarks of a classic British period drama and turns them hilariously topsy-turvy. It’s Downton Abbey meets Airplane!, with a dash of Clue thrown in. The film features Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers, Wolf Hall), Tom Felton (the Harry Potter films), and Katherine Waterston (Michael Clayton, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).
The story follows lovable pickpocket Eric Noone, who unexpectedly lands a job at an impeccably eccentric English manor house. He quickly rises through the ranks, and a forbidden romance with the lady of the house, Rose Davenport, begins to blossom. But when an unexpected murder shakes the estate, Eric is framed—leaving Rose and her family’s future perilously uncertain. With reputations on the line and scandal looming, the pair must navigate a maze of upper-crust absurdities to clear his name.
Playfully subverting all the Upstairs, Downstairs tropes, sweeping estates, secret romances, rigid etiquette, Fackham Hall both celebrates and lampoons the genre in equal measure. Witty, charming, and wildly entertaining!
