Pascual’s mesmerizing trio, featuring Grammy-nominated percussionist Tupac Mantilla and bassist Brad Barrett, has earned an international reputation for their electric chemistry and genre-bending approach to flamenco — bringing in influences as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis, to Latin, classical and beyond. The critically acclaimed Trio met at Boston’s New England Conservatory and have since traveled the world together releasing two albums: New Flamenco Trio (2014), of mostly original compositions; and their newest release Gold & Rose, a groundbreaking exploration of the music of Jimi Hendrix through the lens of flamenco.
