In the June heat, even Rockland sweats. But on the 4th, the Strand offers cool cocktails, hot cinema, and a mysterious stranger with stories to tell.

He goes by Eddie Muller. They call him the Czar of Noir, and he’s coming to the Strand from the shadows of Noir Alley – that late-night stretch on Turner Classic Movies where the desperate and the doomed flicker back to life.

He’s bringing trouble with him. The good kind. The kind that was almost buried forever: a rare 1950 gem called Woman on the Run, starring the incomparable Ann Sheridan. On June 4, she runs again.

The Strand needs you. Call it a fundraiser. Call it a cocktail party. Call it a reason to keep the projectors humming, the neon burning, and the darkness where it belongs – up on the screen.

You could stay home, but dames and detectives don’t stay home on a night like this.

Join us for our Summer Bash. Cocktails and Noir at the Strand.

Your Evening:

5:30pm: Cocktail Party
Enjoy cocktails, mocktails, and your favorite Strand beverages. Tickets include your first drink. Ada’s Kitchen will be there with hearty hors d’oeuvres.

Browse our Silent Auction, peruse our vintage movie posters available for purchase, and find other ways to support the good work of the Strand.

7pm: Film Program with Eddie Muller
At 7pm, guests who purchased a ticket to both the cocktail party and the film will be swept into a presentation of 1950 Film Noir classic Woman on the Run, with a special introduction by Eddie Muller, host of Noir Alley on Turner Classic Movies. Following the screening, Eddie will do host a Q&A and a  book signing.

Film Noir or Black & White attire encouraged!
